The Polar Bear is the second largest land predator. They are excellent swimmers and divers. On land, they can reach speeds of up to 40 km/h. Due to global warming, Polar Bears are facing extinction as they cannot capture enough seals in the melting icebergs.
Their light fur not only camouflages them with icebergs, but it also absorbs warmth. Their transparent hairs are light-conducting and hollow. They provide their black skin with heat radiation. Polar Bears also have a thick layer of fat. They can even survive in temperatures below -50°C.
