Fast - even on land!
Sea lions are a type of eared seal (Otariidae). They have small, clearly visible ears. The agile swimmers can move on land surprisingly fast, using both their fore and hind flippers.
These social creatures live in large mixed-sex colonies. During mating season, the males are extremely territorial and fiercely fight for females and the best territory. Each male commands a group of up to 25 females.
