The conspicuously long legs of the Maned Wolf are adapted to their natural habitat. In the high grass of the savannah they always can see everything. In addition, Maned Wolves are amblers. Their right and left legs move simultaneously. This creates their characteristic rolling gait.
Unlike the real wolf, the Maned Wolf is a solitary animal. They only gather during mating season. As dusk falls, the Maned Wolf goes hunting. In addition to animals, they also eat plants.
