The fearless Yellow-throated Marten is not a solitary creature, unlike other marten species. By hunting in groups, this diurnal predator can capture animals as big as deer, which accounts for half of their food. Even predators such as badgers and raccoons are on the menu of the largest marten species.
Yellow-throated Marten are critically endangered. They have a taste for honey and sometimes break open beehives, and in some regions their meat is eaten. But their main threat is loss of habitat due to deforestation.
