White Stork

(engl: White Storck)

Landlord accepting subtenants

Unlike most stork species, the white stork is used to humans. They often brood in the middle of villages and towns. They build their nests on roofs or chimneys. They add to them, year after year. This creates huge nests which can weigh up to 20 quintals. These are often shared with other species of birds.

The language of White Storks

Loud beak rattling is used to greet their partner and defend them against predators. Rattling duets are often seen during mating season.
