European Bison

(engl: European Bison)

Big, but not heavy!

The European Bison is the largest land mammal in europe. Despite their impressive appearance, bison are good swimmers and fast runners. In imminent danger they overrun their attacker or attack them with their horns.

Just escaped extinction!

The closest relative to the North American bison was once widespread, but has since been completely eradicated from the wild. Offspring from zoo insurance populations serve to preserve the species, with some already reintroduced to the wild.
